Welcome to Bridge Homeschool Co-op
The Bridge homeschool co-op is a secular, inclusive group with the intention of holding space to allow upper grade students to form a community of peers that positively influence their study habits and learning. Gardening, nature, science, art and social justice are themes that often color our educational experience. Allowing children and teens to unfold into who they are through exposure to the beautiful things all around them is our goal.
The co-op meets three days a week from 9am-1pm to allow time for middle school and high school students to do their individual school work along side their peers and do some group learning. We will focus for 45 min at a time and have lunch, games or gardening, or volunteer time to break up these focus times. Students need to have to ability to work independently on their assignments during the focus time. They can be gently reminded to stay on task but generally need to be able to study without disrupting others during the focus times.
Homeschool parents do so much for their kids. Being asked to teach one more class to a group or plan events is often the price for any social interaction you want for your child. The upper grades portion of our co-op is designed to give the adults a break for a few hours to schedule doctor’s appointments, have time with other siblings, have coffee or run errands. The students will also have time to start building independence and their own community of peers.
Our larger co-op activities are open to K-12 homeschool students and their families who would like to join our co-op. Field trips, art shows, science fairs, and other events make up some of those activities.
